Office hours are 8:00am until 6:00pm Monday through Thursday, 8:00am until 5:00pm on Friday and 8:00 until 3:00pm on Saturday. Office is closed on Sundays and Holidays year round. No departures or returns can be scheduled on Sundays or Holidays.
Vehicle departure time is between 1:00pm and 3:00pm on the scheduled day of pick up. Departure times ONLY may vary depending on the amount of units leaving on any given day and based on availability.
Vehicle drop off time is between 8:30am and 10:00am ONLY. Returns after 11:00am may be subject to a late return fee of $100 plus the daily rate for that unit.
Customer agrees that he/she will return the unit in the same condition as he/she received it (excluding normal wear). Damages or loss of equipment will be paid for by the renter. Holding tanks (Black and Gray Water) MUST be emptied prior to returning the unit to us. Failure to do so will result in an additional dump charge of up to $250. If you wish to have the water tank filled prior to pick up, let us know ahead of time or at booking.
Optional Rental Equipment
Generator use on motor homes is charged at $2.00 per hour of use. To rent a generator for the travel trailers, the charge is $20 per day of rental. Wireless brake controllers are $50 for the duration of the trip to rent. Weight distribution set up is $59.95 for the duration of the trip to rent. Please note: the generators for the travel trailers, weight distribution and wireless brake controller are limited on their availability.
The rental duration is based on the number of nights the unit is out. Each night constitutes a rental day. Rental charges are based on rates in effect at the time of pick up. There is a 3 day minimum on all rentals.
Early Return, Late Pick Up and Unused Miles
There are no refunds for early returns, late pickups, or unused miles except for unused estimated mileage charges.
Reservation Down Payment
Upon confirmation of rental dates, the security deposit is required to book and reserve the unit. This can be charged over the phone by credit card, in person or through the mail with check or credit card.
The minimum security deposit and total estimated rental charges are payable at departure in the amount of $1,000 for motor homes and $500 for travel trailers and folding campers. For certain rental applications, the security deposit may be increased at Specialty RV Rentals’ sole discretion. Credit card deposits are processed and charged at the time of booking your reservation. A receipt of the deposit will be sent to the customer after the deposit has been applied to the unit. Your credit card may have a daily limit: please check with your credit card provider prior to authorizing the charge to ensure proper payment to the needed department.
Security Deposit Refund
All extra charges, if any, are balanced against the security deposit and will be returned within 3-5 business days of the rental return. The remaining or full security deposit will be refunded to you by credit or check issued to the individual on rental contract.
30 days or more before pick up, you will get 100% of your deposit back. 29 days or less before pick up, 100% of your deposit will be forfeited. Under certain circumstances, special accommodations can be made.
Tent trailers, expandable trailers and travel trailers include collision and comprehensive coverage with a $500 deductible that is the responsibility of the renter. Liability coverage on the tow vehicle is required and must transfer back to the rental trailer. All motor homes require a binder policy to be provided by renter’s insurance company with Specialty RV Rentals listed as additional insured. If a binder policy is not available, renters can purchase coverage through MBA Insurance: ask a representative for details.
The driver must be a qualified driver of 25 years or older with a valid and identifiable driver’s license. A major credit card, references and employment may be required as identification prior to rental and may be verified. All drivers must be listed on the rental agreement and must sign the form as well. Those who sign will be bound by the Terms and Conditions of the rental agreement at vehicle pick up.
The renter will receive a familiarization tour (approximately 30-45 minutes). This is required to acquaint the customer and drivers with the proper operation of the vehicle before departure; this tour is only given during office hours.
We will make every effort to provide the customer with the model they request. However, we reserve the right to substitute models of similar or higher grade. Should a model of lower grade be offered and accepted, the liability will be limited to refund the price differential between model prices.
Optional Use of Generator
Motor homes are equipped with onboard generators. A generator is not necessary for normal vehicle operation and is subject to frequent service interruption. If customers choose to use the generator, extra charges will occur at $2 per hour of use as determined by an installed running time meter.
Parking/Traffic Violations and Toll Fees
Customers are responsible for the reporting and payment of all parking/traffic violations at rental termination. All toll fees occurring during any rental use are the responsibility of the renter. Non-reporting of traffic/violations or non-payment to toll booth breaches the Rental Agreement and may result in an administrative charge of up to $100 in addition to the fines.
Alaska, Yukon and Northwest Territories
Vehicles rented from Specialty RV Rentals are NOT allowed to be driven to Alaska, Yukon and Northwest Territories.
Vehicles rented from Specialty RV Rentals are NOT allowed to travel into Mexico.
No warranties are made concerning fuel mileage and fuel tank capacities. We assume no liability for fuel consumption rates. All gasoline and all propane refueling during the trip are at the customer’s expense.
Vehicles rented from Specialty RV Rentals are NOT allowed to have any sort of pet inside the unit. If evidence is found of a pet being inside the unit, we reserve the right to charge an additional cleaning fee to sanitize the unit.
Vehicles rented from Specialty RV Rentals are NOT permitted to tow any object behind any of our motor homes, expandable travel trailers and travel trailers.
Storing items on the rental vehicle’s roof or exterior are not permitted. The exception to this rule would be on the rear storage rack on the rental travel trailers. These are mounted to the frame by the manufacturer.
Maintenance and Breakdown Responsibility
The customer is responsible for checking the oil, fluids and coolant levels at each refueling, as well as reporting mechanical failures immediately. Instructions and procedures for maintenance expense reimbursement are provided at rental. Customers may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in vehicle operation or failure to provide normal maintenance. In the event the vehicle is in breakdown repair for 12 hours or more, through no fault of the customer, our responsibility to the customer is limited to refund of daily rate or portion thereof. Radio, air conditioning, refrigerator, loss of perishable foods, microwave and appliances, cruise control, plumbing issues and generator malfunctions are not considered breakdowns and no refunds are available for repair time or replacement to these items.
